Manager Risk, Strategy & Product - 56738 Permanent Full time Sydney Location Hybrid working model How will I help?
As the Manager Risk, Strategy & Product, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a strategic and integrated approach to risk management.
You will support the implementation of risk frameworks that balance risk and return, aligning with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
This role reports directly to the Executive Manager – Strategy & Product and works collaboratively across teams to enhance the effectiveness of risk management.
Key responsibilities will include: Strategic Risk Management: Implement and refine risk management frameworks to support business strategies and regulatory compliance.
Advisory & Leadership: Provide commercially focused risk advice to senior stakeholders, ensuring alignment with objectives, risk appetite, and governance frameworks.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance risk management efficiency and effectiveness.
Regulatory Compliance: Interpret and apply regulatory changes, ensuring the business meets all compliance obligations.
Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with stakeholders across BTFG and Westpac Group to facilitate timely and effective risk management.
Culture & Leadership: Drive a high-performance culture that encourages accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What do I need?
6+ years of experience in financial services, with expertise in wealth management risk and compliance.
Understanding of business and risk strategy, wealth product development, and distribution operations.
Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, including RG146, RG104, RG105, RG165, Privacy laws, and Conflicts of Interest.
Tertiary qualifications in a business-related discipline (e.g., Accounting, Project Management, Internal Audit, Legal).
Demonstrated experience in risk assessment, decision-making, and incident management.
Proficiency in stakeholder management, strategic thinking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
