The Finance Director will oversee the financial health of the company, providing strategic direction and leadership to ensure the effective management of financial resources.
About the role
Playing a key part of the ANZ management team, the Finance Director will report directly into the Managing Director with an additional functional reporting to the VP Finance for APAC (Asia Pacific Region).
This role will oversee financial planning and analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance in addition to:
Provide strategic advice to the executive team on financial matters, risk management, and profitability enhancement.
Lead the annual budgeting process, including preparing detailed financial forecasts and variance analysis.
Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing insights and recommendations to improve financial outcomes.
Oversee financial modeling and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Manage compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and address any audit findings.
Oversee working capital and cash flow management, including forecasting.
Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard company assets and ensure financial stability.
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Support mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives by conducting financial due diligence and integration planning.
Drive process improvements and implement best practices in financial management and reporting.
About you
Qualification: Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or related field is critical, with a CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred.
Experience: Prior experience in a similar role with a minimum of 5 years in a senior management position is essential.
Ideally, you will have experience working for an international company with headquarters in Europe and/or within a trade, wholesale, or international manufacturing of goods industry.
Financial: You will have proven experience in financial planning, analysis, reporting, and compliance within a large organization with a strong understanding of financial regulations, accounting principles, and risk management.
Software: Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, along with advanced Excel skills, is critical.
Familiarity with JD Edwards would put you a step above the rest, but is not required.
Senior Management: You will have excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives.
You will not only provide strategic advice and form strategies but will be responsible for implementing these strategies including managing the change process and earning employee buy-in.
Leadership: You will be mentoring and managing team members to create a high-performing and cohesive team.
Customer Focused: The integration of our customers, principals, and internal teams are the key to our success and being customer-focused will help you succeed in this role.
Resilient, able to multi-task and work under pressure: No two days are the same.

You will have demonstrable experience in working to an excellent standard when under pressure, adapting to complex or challenging situations as they arise and being able to prioritize deadlines.
