The OpportunityTo support the growth of our company, Bhagwan Marine is looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join our growing accounts team.
Any prior experience in a financial accounting role assisting with finalising end of year audits and accounts will be desirable.
ResponsibilitiesAssist with the year-end audit including the following:
Drive Accuracy: Contribute to the preparation and consolidation of group statutory reports and results.Audit Support: Collaborate with external auditors, ensuring smooth and efficient audit processes by providing necessary documentation and insights.Lease Accounting Lead: Take ownership of AASB 16 Leases accounting, ensuring compliance and precision.Team Player: Support finance transactional teams, enhancing operational efficiency.Reporting Excellence: Assist with monthly management reporting, delivering critical insights that shape decision-making.Tax Liaison: Coordinate with external tax accountants to streamline tax reporting and compliance.Modeling & Analysis: Develop robust financial models and refine reporting processes for greater accuracy and clarity.Inquiry Resolution: Respond to financial inquiries with speed and precision, supporting internal stakeholders.ERP Champion: Assist the Senior Financial Accountant in refining ERP system processes for maximum efficiency.Data Management: Create and maintain spreadsheets/databases to track, analyze, and report on key financial data.Ad-Hoc Support: Take on diverse tasks that contribute to the team's overall success.Requirements:Minimum of 3 years demonstrated in a similar role.Sound business acumen / commercial sense.Experience in the Marine, Oil & Gas, Resource or Construction Industry sectors (preferred).Strong and thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.Taxation knowledge.Large ERP system exposure, dynamics experience preferable.Experience in preparation of financial statements.Excellent skills in Excel with experience in building spreadsheets.Strong computer skills in Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Results oriented.Ability to work proactively and to tight deadlines.Highly motivated self-starter.High standards of honesty, integrity, reliability, and professionalism.Fact-based decision-maker.We have a strong focus on health, safety and the environment.We actively work on promoting a positive and effective safety culture.We have a 'can do' attitude that values initiative and achieving our goals.We have a flexible working environment with opportunity to work remotely.What we need from youA cover letter outlining why you want to work at Bhagwan Marine and how you feel you can best contribute to its success.A CV outlining your education, skillset, and experience.Your application will include the following questions:
