All jobs can be worked flexibly, and we encourage applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people from diverse backgrounds and abilities.If you're having any trouble viewing this ad and would like it or any attachments in an accessible format (such as large print), please don't hesitate to get in touch with the contact person listed on the ad.THE ROLEWe are looking for an exceptional data technologist/analyst to join the Commission for Gender Equality in the Public Sector (Commission) as Data Principal.As Principal Data Analyst, you will apply your deep and extensive experience, knowledge and talent to enabling the Gender Equality Commissioner to effectively oversee and implement the Gender Equality Act 2020 (Vic) (the Act).Your focus will be providing thought leadership to, and working alongside, a small team of data analysts to design, operate and evolve the Commission's data collection and reporting regimes across ~300 public sector organisations, consisting of:biennial structured data collection of detailed workforce, survey and intersectional databiennial semi-structured data collection of plans, strategies, gender assessments and progress reportsdata about duty holders (organisations) and stakeholders within organisationsguiding the analysis of the above datasets to produce evidence of progress on the seven key workplace gender equality indicators and helping the broader Commission team interpret data.The successful candidate will be a high-performing and proactive specialist with a strategic and operational mindset. Equally adept at designing, collecting, analysing, reporting and translating complex data and delivering under pressure. Experience in and/or understanding of gender equality work and the state, national and international legislative context would be an advantage.ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDELead data and statistical analysis of the Commission's gender equality data assets.Prepare and provide expert, well-reasoned and researched, audience-appropriate insights and advice about the Commission's data to support public, ministerial, cabinet and agency submissions, reports and releases.Review and report on high priority issues, risks and trends.COVID-19 VACCINATIONThe department strongly recommends (but does not mandate) that employees maintain their COVID-19 vaccination status in accordance with current ATAGI (Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation) advice, given their individual circumstances.
