That is our call to action and arms for all those passionate about taking action to stop climate change and being part of Australia's single greatest economy-wide change – the energy transformation.ZEN is accelerating Australia's path to becoming a renewable energy Superpower and is Australia's first electricity retailer to have a near-term science-based emissions reduction target in line with limiting global warming by 1.5°C.About the RoleThere are two key purposes of this role:To ensure accurate and timely confirmation, settlements and reporting of ZEN's electricity and LGC (STC, ESC, VEEC, ACCU, Weather derivatives) trading transactions through thorough analysis and validation processes, together with effective dispute resolution.To ensure margin calls (AEMO and Wholesale counterparties) are acknowledged, validated and actioned proactively along with other finance team members, thus assisting in cash flow forecasting.ZEN recognises that a strong culture – where all employees have genuine opportunities to thrive and succeed – is a strong driver of business performance. This role touches key functions in the ZEN business, with a concurrent focus on fostering a growth-oriented, positive, and encouraging environment while keeping employees and management accountable to company policies, procedures, and guidelines.What we will ask you to do:Margin Call and Cash flow forecastingDrive the ongoing development and improvement of cashflow forecasting tools and appropriate reporting of cashflow impacts of trading (electricity, environmental products, and other relevant products; margin calls AEMO prudential management, reallocations).Insightful Reporting: improving the reporting capabilities through automation, dashboard development, and optimizing report layout ensuring stakeholders receive actionable insights.Collaborative Approach: Work closely with the trading and finance teams to provide cashflow insights and support strategic decision-making.Confirmation and SettlementCalculate, reconcile, and create invoices for the energy market contracts.Ensure LGCs are up to date in inventory and surrenders and transfers are done on time.Ensure Confirmations are completed accurately and timely.Interpret complex wholesale contract terms and conditions and develop the financial modelling for the purpose of calculating settlement amount.Settle, dispute and report all contracts in key financial systems and ETRM.Manage relationships and resolve disputes with external counterparties to ensure accuracy and timeliness of contract obligations.Settlement Automation and ImprovementLead the continuous process improvement of automating settlement activities in conjunction with the IT development team.Critically challenge the settlements activities and initiatives.As part of the ZEN team, you will be curious, have a bold imagination, strive to be your best in everything you can do, and be ready to laugh and have fun at work.Skills and ExperienceMinimum 1-2 years of experience in Wholesale Energy preferably with exposure in either billing, settlement or IT development.Tertiary skills in engineering or commercial discipline.Technical CapabilitiesProficiency in using statistical methods.Proficiency in Microsoft suite including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.Proficiency in using databases.Interpersonal CapabilitiesYou will engage collaboratively with stakeholders across the business and externally as well.We would love you to be able to clearly explain and deliver information, even if it is complex.A strong attention to detail, self-organisation, and ability to meet deadlines is important.You will be passionate about learning the issues relating to the energy industry, particularly in renewables.The ZEN values will sit well with you and be reflective of the way you like to work.Your application will include the following questions:How many years of experience do you have in the energy industry?Do you have a valid police check, or are willing to undergo a background check?Please list your relevant degree or qualification, if applicable.Do you have permanent work rights to work in Australia, with no restrictions?What is your current salary, and what is your expected salary for this role?Please provide your notice period (plus any additional week's break if applicable).Please provide details of any upcoming holidays for resourcing purposes.
