Project enhancement role Melbourne CBD - WFH/Hybrid Leadership opportunity The Company Our client is a leader in the retail sector with a key payments platform responsible for transaction authorization, pricing, product restrictions and 3rd party merchant settlement.
The Senior Application Specialist is expected to play a "leadership" role within the team, leading the system architecture, design of enhancements, platform changes, setting of priorities and coaching and mentoring the broader team.
The Role Key responsibilities: Provide thought leadership by developing and executing critical enhancements in COBOL85 and eCobol (Itanium).
Ensure financial messaging standard AS2805 is adhered to and backend mainframe billing systems are maintained.
Coach and mentor the broader team to ensure application availability and efficiency.
Partner with the business to help set team priorities and plan future developments Ensure business environment is high performing, secure, scalable, reliable, and can meet the needs of both current and future opportunities with a focus on automation and simplification.
About You To be successful in this role you will need: Cards Processing Knowledge –Experience with financial messaging standard AS2805 & backend mainframe billing systems .
Programming Languages – COBOL85 and eCobol (Itanium).
A strong background in COBOL programming is therefore essential.
You will need to have a good working knowledge of both INSPECT and eINSPECT.
HP NonStop OS – Basic knowledge of the latest J version operating system.
Including tools and utilities, such as TACL, TEDIT, FUP, Pathway, Peruse, Spoolcom and TMF.
NonStop SQL/MP – A strong and in-depth knowledge of SQL is necessary.
Including knowledge and experience of writing high-performance SQL queries.
An appreciation of database design and management issues preferred.
TACL Programming – Relevant experience in writing complex TACL macros is required, including ability to write new and maintain existing.
