Westpac is seeking experienced Mainframe developers to join the Cash & Transactional Banking technology team.
As a key member of this development team, you will be responsible for designing, coding, testing and implementing solutions across our Core applications.
Your responsibilities will include: Documentation of detailed design, test plans and results, and implementation plans.
Code changes to existing application modules and create new functionality where required whilst adhering to standards.
Execute Unit & System testing of the code changes ensuring they meet the documented business requirements and documented design.
Work with our Business and project stakeholders communicating changes gaining their approvals to proceed Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of our systems.

What do I need?
Whilst Banking experience is not essential, you should be proficient in the IBM mainframe environment and eager to learn and work with these technologies.
To be successful in this position you should have the below skills and experiences: Analysis, problem solving, troubleshooting and consultative skills Good mainframe technical capability 3+ years in Cobol &/or PLI programming language & JCL essential IMS DB/DC, CICS, DB2 experience highly desirable zOS Connect API experience favourable Strong verbal and written communication Strong understanding of the software lifecycle Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments What's it like to work there?
