Qube Ports is the leading Stevedoring, Bulk Logistics and Port Management service provider in Australia.
Qube Ports manages 25 sites for the forestry industry in Australia and New Zealand and is also the leading provider of supply chain logistics services to the energy sector, supporting thousands of onshore wells and rig supply vessels, barges and offshore construction vessels annually.
We lead the market in providing purpose-designed solutions for our customers, handling containers, bulk, automotive and general cargo.
ABOUT THE ROLE The primary purpose of the Logistics Manager is to manage day to day operations of the Transport and Mining Haulage operation in Tasmania.

Specific Responsibilities Ensure appropriate communication of standards, expectations and procedures to the operational team.Review requisite skills and manage training of employees to ensure qualified manpower is available for all operations.Direct and manage the performance of the operations management team on the job to ensure a safe and efficient operation.Liaise with Agents and Vessels' Chief Officer to ensure all tasks are coordinated consistent with sequence of discharge and load plans.Participate in Safety Committee and ERC meetings to ensure meetings are focused and outcome driven.Communicate and liaise with vessel Chief Officers and client representatives to ensure that performance objectives are achieved according to the vessel plan.Monitor and ensure compliance with employment terms (EA's), OH&S and Environmental legislation and company policy and take necessary corrective action.Resolve queries and issues raised by the workforce relating to policy and practice.Manage the conduct of Risk Assessments and the development of safe work methods and required documentation.Monitor hazard and near miss reports and conduct safety observations.Monitor and ensure recommendations for corrective action are closed off within specified time frames.Provide Shift Managers with formal performance feedback through the Performance Management & Development process.Review incidents of employee policy breach, investigate and lead implementation of appropriate action.Review incidents of poor employee performance and lead implementation of appropriate action taking into account employee employment terms and conditions such as dispute resolution procedures and other industrial instruments.Manage maintenance within budget ensuring adherence to relevant legislation and Qube Ports standards.Qualifications and Experience Management experience in the stevedoring or similar industryExperience in high risk operating environmentsUnderstanding of operational capabilities of machinery and lifting gearExperience in regulated workplace environmentsAnalytical skillsTertiary qualifications in logistics/related fieldTeam management and leadershipProblem solving abilityFocus on safetyCustomer focused and responsive to customer requirementsPerformance and task drivenAnalytical & financial understandingTime managementWhy QUBE?
