We are seeking a senior leader as Head of Data Science and Innovation to lead the development and implementation of advanced analytics and innovation strategies in the Chief Data Office for the Business and Wealth division.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and delivering innovative solutions to enhance the bank's customer experience, drive operational efficiency, and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement advanced analytics and innovation strategies/roadmap that align with Business & Wealth overall goals and objectives.
Lead the development and deployment of predictive modelling, machine learning, and other advanced analytics techniques to support business decision-making.
Drive innovation within Business & Wealth by identifying new opportunities, exploring emerging technologies, and implementing new solutions that support business objectives.
Collaborate with Lines of Businesses and business units to identify and prioritize opportunities for data science and innovation projects.
Manage a team of data scientists, machine learning engineers, and innovation experts to deliver on Business & Wealth analytics and innovation objectives.
Develop and maintain relationships with external partners and vendors to access the latest technology and innovation trends.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in the delivery of data science and innovation projects.
Develop and maintain a strong network of internal stakeholders to build support for data science, AI, and innovation initiatives.
Communicate the value of advanced analytics and innovation to senior leaders and business units across the bank.
Major Accountabilities: Manage and deliver data science roadmap for Business & Wealth division.
Build and lead a team of data scientists and innovation experts to deliver on data science and innovation roadmap.
Support the ongoing development and performance of a high-performing project delivery team.
Establish appropriate processes and tooling across the division required for data science.
Maintain a forward view on data science roadmap and secure appropriate funding.
Work with business stakeholders to ensure resources are prioritized to work on high-value activity.
Participate in Divisional Data Council and Data Forums on behalf of data science.
Provide thought leadership on data science and innovation trends and best practices.
Drive the Business & Wealth Advanced Analytics Chapter to uplift capability and foster a thriving data culture.
Performance Indicators: People engagement Stakeholder engagement Successful delivery of data science projects as aligned to agreed scope, quality, timeline, and cost Compliance with Delivery Excellence frameworks and standards as aligned to divisional PMO and Group Transformation Office requirements Position Requirements: Seasoned experience in analytics, data science, or innovation roles, with a track record of delivering business value through innovative solutions.
Extensive leadership experience managing data science and innovation teams.
Strong technical expertise in data science techniques, including predictive modelling, machine learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Cloud computing.
Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organization.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Strong understanding of risk management in a complex environment and ensure adherence with Three Lines of Defence model and compliance obligations.
Knowledge of the banking industry and financial products and services.
Strong project management skills and the ability to deliver on multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to think creatively and outside the box to identify new opportunities and solutions.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field beneficial.
We work in a hybrid environment with office attendance 2 - 3 times per week.
