TMR's Land Transport Safety and Regulation Branch (LTSR) has a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Advisor to join the Vehicle Standards team.
In this role, you will need to balance the needs of various stakeholders, apply critical thinking and leverage subject matter experts.
You will assist the Manager (Vehicle Standards) to achieve outcomes for the Queensland community through reform activities to deliver optimal policy, strategy and legislative outcomes.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Research, define and analyse complex policy and develop solutions that consider a variety of perspectives, including but not limited to, the public and industry.
Identify and pursue policy opportunities to reform regulatory frameworks improving road safety and balancing industry outcomes.
Autonomously manage a program of strategic policy and legislative work, delivering initiatives in a timely and professional manner, including preparing well-researched submissions, briefs and policy documents.
Engage, communicate and collaborate with stakeholders across Queensland and nationally, including within the department, government, industry and community in relation to the achievement of strategic transport system priorities.
Bring an enthusiastic and positive approach to work, with an ability to acquire subject matter expertise, be adaptive to change, learn new skills and work within ambiguity and risk.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement with the team.
