Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to refine evaluation tools, provide technical advice & support strategic reviews at key stages of project development.If you're ready to make a difference and bring your expertise in economic evaluation to the forefront of Queensland's transport strategy, we'd love to hear from youJob detailsPosition status: Fixed Term TemporaryPosition type: Flexible full-timeOccupational group: Economics & StatisticsClassification: AO6Workplace Location: Brisbane CityJob ad reference: QLD/612925/25Closing date: 17-Jan-2025Yearly salary: $116538 - $124688Fortnightly salary: $4466.90 - $4779.30Job duration: Until 30 June 2025 with possible extensionThe Senior Advisor (Transport Economics) will assist in the development of suitable economic analysis to support investment-grade proposals for major infrastructure projects.Some of your responsibilities will include:Leading components of and/or preparing economic evaluations (such as cost-benefit analysis) and associated reports for business case development, and assisting in the development, management, and maintenance of components of the department's cost-benefit analysis project evaluation tool(s).Contributing to the provision of technical support and advice on matters relating to infrastructure project evaluation, assurance, and the production of the Benefit Cost Ratio for business case development throughout Gates 1-3 of the Major Project Gates to inform/support investment decisions and the development of QTRIP.Supporting the development and strategic reviews of key components of project evaluations, including financial, commercial, economic and governance for Strategic Assessment of Service Requirements (SASR), Preliminary Evaluations (PE), Business Cases (BC).Assisting the team leader to develop departmental capabilities in transport project evaluation through the review, preparation and provision of written materials, guidelines, manuals and tutorials on cost-benefit analysis processes and systems.Developing and maintaining relationships with relevant stakeholders across TMR, government, industry and community.To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:Experience in economic analysis and modelling, data analysis and visualisation.Ability to build and sustain relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of customer-focused outcomes.Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including strong analytical skills and ability to express complex ideas.Demonstrated experience or a degree(s) in Economics or Business / Commerce / Arts with Economics major(s) or post graduate qualifications e.g.
