This position is located in tropical Far North Queensland, the international gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics rainforest. We provide transport infrastructure solutions for projects across Queensland. We are a multi-disciplined organisation with accreditation to national and international standards. This means we value respect, safety, diversity and inclusion.In the role of Service Coordinator, you will manage the allocation of work within the workshop (including field service activities) through effective and timely consultation with projects or teams and ensure that all work is carried out in an efficient and cost-effective manner. You will ensure work performed complies with relevant legislation including but not limited to the Workplace Health & Safety Act and Environmental Regulations, manufacturers' guidelines and actively promote and improve safe work practices in both workshop and field service environments.Accountabilities include:Manage the operations of the workshop to industry best practice in a commercially competitive environment and in accordance with the RoadTek Business Management System.Manage the maintenance, servicing and inspection of plant and equipment.Provide technical direction and where necessary be actively involved in carrying out repairs and maintenance of equipment.Coach and mentor staff through the use of the RoadTek performance management processes.Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including the Workplace Health & Safety Act and Environmental Regulations and actively promote and improve safety within the workshop.Manage the financial performance of the workshop, including revenue generation, cost control and efficiency gains to achieve the budgeted outcomes.Determine core capability for the workshop and address capability gaps through recruitment of staff, including the recruitment and management of apprentice training and staff training and development plans.Mandatory qualifications and conditions:Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.Applicants must possess a current, valid Queensland 'C' class driver's licence or equivalent.A reasonable amount of travel consistent with industry standards will be required throughout the operational unit and/or the State. You will be entitled to expenses and allowances for such travel.Desirable requirements:A recognised (mechanical) trade or experience in a supervisory role with at least five years' experience as a tradesperson.MR class driver's licence.If this opportunity complements your current skills, experience, and future career plan, we encourage you to read the attached position description and submit your application.
