The role
The management team calls this role one of the most important roles in the company, as it is pivotal for the success of the company and ensuring commercial outcomes. With this in mind, they are passionate to find a Freight Forwarding Operator with a forte for working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, someone who owns the role at hand, and can draw on their freight forwarding experience to make decisions, mediating with clients and carriers to safeguard the efficient and timely transportation of goods.
Daily responsibilities will include: Direct and manage the movement of freight through numerous transportation modes, predominantly air, then sea, and land. Negotiate, liaise, and document rates and terms with carriers and service providers. Coordinate, prepare, and process all necessary documentation, including airwaybills, customs declarations, and invoices. Deliver outstanding customer service by monitoring and addressing client inquiries while resolving any concerns that may arise. Collaborate with the wider national team to optimize logistics processes while identifying opportunities for quality improvement. Preserve accurate data to guarantee compliance with industry regulations. The essentials Experience in a freight forwarding or logistics business. Effective knowledge of freight forwarding procedures, including customs clearance and documentation. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, carriers, and other stakeholders. Proficient in using Cargowise software. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities to handle logistics challenges. A can-do attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
