Base Salary: $180,000 – $200,000 per year
Are you a forward-thinking leader with a passion for safety?
Our client, a leader in the transport and logistics sector, is one of the largest privately owned freight companies in Australia.
A rare opportunity has now become available for an experienced Executive Health and Safety Leader to spearhead our client's established team of likeminded safety professionals and continue their mission in driving a cultural transformation.
We are searching for a highly experienced leader who will champion change and can think holistically in your approach to health and safety.
The RoleAs the head of the Health and Safety Department, you will have a group of direct reports nationally who will look to you for guidance and direction.
Your proven expertise, legislative understanding, and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments will be key to your success.
Duties may include but are not limited to: Creation and execution of strategies that ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirementsDrive a proactive safety culture where all employees have a role in continuous improvement and hazard identificationEstablish monitoring channels, system compliance audits, and development areasBuild cultural transformation through promoting wellness and mental health initiativesLead training programs for employees on safety protocols and proceduresCollaborate with cross-functional teams to implement safety strategies and initiativesTravel nationally to partner with your leaders and workforces on the groundAbout YouWe are looking for a safety chameleon who will excel under pressure and enjoy tackling a challenging yet highly rewarding leadership appointment.
In addition, we require:
Tertiary qualification(s) in Health and SafetyExceptional people and engagement skills with a proven ability to lead and motivate teamsRobust understanding of safety, compliance, and legislative requirements (especially psychosocial initiatives) within a high-risk industry sectorOutstanding interpersonal and communication skillsBe instrumental in cultivating a proactive safety culture where safety is integrated throughout the workforce through behaviours and best practicesThe OfferYour proven background in a similar appointment, together with your highly developed leadership skills and knowledge, will be rewarded with benefits such as a competitive salary package, the option to create a flexible working arrangement, and access to salary packaging options.
