Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability.
The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare.
As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability.
For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need.
The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.

The Office of Agency Accessibility & Inclusion supports the Agency to increase levels of inclusion, employment, and engagement for diversity groups, such as neurodivergent people, People with Disability, First Nations Peoples, Gender Equality and Families, People from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer, Asexual plus people (LGBTIQASB+), and the Mature-Age and Inter-Generational Workforce.

In this exciting role you will champion neurodiversity, equity and inclusion within the Agency.
You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects and initiatives, including, but not limited to:
Providing strategic leadership in the development and implementation of neurodiversity initiatives and improvements.Advocating for the neurodivergent employee cohort and influencing organisational change, to foster an inclusive and accessible workplace.Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to promote understanding and support for neurodivergent staff at the Agency.Supporting the capability of Disability Liaison Officers to ensure staff get the tools and adjustments they require to perform in their role.Contributing to the development and review of policies related to neurodiversity, equity and inclusion, and people, culture and wellbeing.Enough about us, let's talk about youThe Neuroinclusion Specialist role is a newly created position and is pivotal to the NDIA's commitment to foster and advance neuroinclusion within the Agency.
By increasing awareness and understanding of neurodiversity, we can ensure that workplace processes, management practices, environments, and the organisation of work are inclusive and accessible for neurodivergent individuals.
The successful candidate will significantly contribute to neurodivergent employees experiencing a positive working environment, ensuring they have access to relevant supports that enable them to reach their full potential and maintain their wellbeing.
The Neuroinclusion Specialist may have a background in Organisational, Occupational or Clinical Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or performance coaching or counselling (specific to neurodiversity).

This role is non-ongoing for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.
