Unsolicited applications from agencies will not be considered.What we are looking for:The Team Leader Water and Sewerage Network plays a pivotal role in delivering the Water Branch's objective to deliver safe, reliable drinking water and remove and treat sewage for our domestic and commercial customers.The Team Leader Water and Sewerage Network is responsible to the Supervisor Water and Sewerage Network for the efficient and effective management of the Network Maintenance Section, in particular:Perform the tasks of a responsible licensed tradesperson including the lodging of all relevant forms for Notifiable Work, labouring and operation of light plant in a safe, competent, efficient and timely manner to deliver work to a quality standard.Meeting resource and works flow management including managing daily activities of crews undertaking civil preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance, job planning, materials procurement, resource allocation, safety, water quality and environmental management.Work under limited direction with a focus on water quality, hygiene, regulatory compliance and public health.Minor capital works and private works project estimating, planning, delivery, commissioning and asset information collection.Management of contractors undertaking civil and ancillary works associated with civil maintenance and minor capital works.Minimise service disruptions times to ensure regulatory compliance reporting and customer service standards are met, meeting environmental obligations and reporting to ensure regulatory compliance and customer service standards are met.Customer complaints management and timely completion and close-out of CRM's and Work Orders according to assigned priorities.Actively participate to implement initiatives and promote a cooperative team-based approach.Continuous improvement that improves safety, efficiency, and performance.Ensure that all work is conducted in a safe manner to avoid personal (or employee, public) injury or sickness and carry out audits and risk assessments as required.Contribute to an effective team to ensure the highest quality of service to customers through compliance with industry guidelines, workplace procedures, Council's Customer Service Standards, and statutory requirements.Foster positive relationships within the Water branch and across Council directorates.Significant experience in organising and overseeing water sewerage and plumbing works.Demonstrated ability in leadership and management of teams.Proven ability to work independently, exercise initiative and meet deadlines.Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience of operation and maintenance practices in the water industry to meet service level outcomes and optimise operating costs.Demonstrated experience in effectively developing and maintaining strategic relationships and effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders, including all levels of local and state government, industry regulators, community, customers, elected representatives and contractors.Current Plumber/Drainer License- Backflow endorsed.Queensland 'C' Class driver's license or above that is current and maintained.Construction Industry White/Blue card.Traffic Management Implementation.Confined space entry competency.Assess and quote on private works regarding water and sewerage, coordinate works to be completed.Liaise with contractors and project team to coordinate with Operations in best delivery with current resource planning and scheduling of upcoming works.Provide detailed plan of future works to be scheduled/planned.Manage the performance of staff members and contractors to ensure a strong customer service focus is maintained with prompt response to customer requests or complaints.Coordination and approval of timesheets and other payroll activities as required.Investigate and report on incidents related to the activities of the WBU and develop solutions, including changes to policies, processes and procedures as required.Promote and maintain a positive organisational image and good customer relations that maximises the provision of a high level of service to enhance the customer experience.Ensure, through effective communication, that good relationships are fostered and maintained within the Water branch, and with Gympie Regional Council Departments and external stakeholders.General administrative tasks exercising sound judgement, initiative and confidentiality, including an ongoing review of business systems and processes within the unit as part of a continuous improvement process.Assist schedule/dispatch with distribution of planned and reactive works as required.Working in a safe manner in accordance with Council's
