Team Member- Mechanical Workshop

About our new role: We're seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanic to join our team at Parramatta City Council.
This role involves the maintenance and repair of the Council's fleet of vehicles, plant, and equipment to ensure they meet all regulatory and statutory standards.
As a valuable team member, you will use your technical expertise to minimize downtime, maximize fleet utilization, and deliver outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities: Perform maintenance and repair tasks on Council's fleet vehicles and equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and compliance with all RMS and WorkCover regulations.
Utilize our computerized Fleet Management System for efficient tracking and reporting.
Conduct registration and safety inspections for fleet vehicles and plant equipment.
Uphold Work Health & Safety (WHS) standards and Environmental Management Principles in the workshop environment.
Actively support and foster a positive organizational culture, embracing Council's values and commitment to an inclusive and culturally diverse workplace.
Provide top-notch customer service by assisting internal and external customers with inquiries in a helpful and positive manner.
Qualifications and Experience: Required: Current Tradeperson Certificate in Motor Mechanic repair work or equivalent qualifications with extensive relevant experience.
Demonstrated recent experience in repairing late-model fleet vehicles and equipment.
Proficiency in using computerized vehicle asset management systems, email, and internet applications.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, solve problems, and meet deadlines.
Valid Class C Driver's License and MR Driver's License (or willingness to obtain within six months).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective information exchange.
Commitment to customer service and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable: RMS Vehicle Inspection Certificate or willingness to obtain within six months.
Willingness to be on-call for after-hours support and provide timely responses.
Knowledge of local government procedures and practices.
