Formed in 1917, The Queen Elizabeth Centre (QEC) is Victoria's largest provider of Residential, Community and Home-based early parenting services for families with children from birth to four years of age.

The role The Community Early Parenting Practitioner will work part time over 4 days from our Dandenong South office as part of the PASDS community-based team, supporting infants, young children and their families to achieve optimal safety, connection, development and wellbeing goals over a 12 month fixed term.
With the support and guidance of the Program Coordinator, the EPP work within the PASDS program, providing direct support and education to families experiencing vulnerability in home and community settings.
Families in the program will have current involvement with Child Protection and require additional support and assistance with parenting challenges.
The EPP will work in partnership with families to identify key strengths and challenges.
During the program, EPPs assist with setting goals and provide intensive teaching, modelling, encouragement, and support to enhance parenting skills and improve outcomes for families.
The EPP will also assist with referral and liaison to other professionals and agencies where appropriate.
Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the EPP - Community is recognised as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, working in alignment with QEC's Model of Care, Clinical Practice Framework and the Victorian Government Best Interests Case Practice Model.
About you To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate:
A qualification at Diploma level or higher in either Community Services, Early Childhood, Social Work, Enrolled Nurse or similarExperience working with families in the health/welfare sector ideally within the early yearsSound knowledge and experience of working with families experiencing vulnerability and the impacts of child safety and well-beingSound understanding of child development and the factors that can impede a child's developmentThe successful candidate will have access to QEC's Clinical Starter Program which has been designed to support all new clinicians in developing skills and building knowledge to support them in the role of Early Parenting Practitioner.
This program offers new starters ongoing support which includes one on one support from our learning team, a QEC program handbook, extensive induction and orientation program as well as scheduled clinical training.
