The Opportunity
Do you have a keen eye for detail, strong organisational skills and are looking for an opportunity to contribute to our vision of Happy, Healthy Kids?
Join our End Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD) Program, here at The Kids, that is seeking a confident project coordinator to support our Director of First Nations Strategy and Leadership in his role as Program Head for the END RHD Program.
The END RHD program has an ambitious goal to end RHD in Australia by 2031 through a comprehensive research program and bringing together community, researchers, practitioners & funders.
The program focuses on Indigenous leadership to guide, support and drive research that is culturally appropriate and inclusive, and to make a meaningful and important impact on the communities we work alongside.
Reporting to our Director of First Nations Strategy and Leadership and working closely with different teams within the wider program, you will provide high-level project coordination, operational and financial support by assisting with various activities – from supporting stakeholder engagement activities, supporting strategic initiatives such as the establishment of governance and advisory groups and assisting in the coordination of project scopes, grant applications and budgets.
No two days will be the same in this role, so strong organisational skills and a collaborative approach will be key to your success.
Some of your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Supporting the Program Head in program and project related activities including engagement with stakeholders and people with lived experience of RHD, communications, and reporting.
Assisting in the preparation of meeting agendas, presentations, workshops, seminars and training.
Providing diary management and travel management support.
Assisting in the preparation and management of grant applications, expenses, budgets, and financial reporting requirements.
This position will be based at The Kids Research Institute Australia in Nedlands, WA and will be offered on a full-time basis, with part-time (4 days per week) hours considered, for a 2-year contract with potential to extend.
About You
This position would suit someone who shares our passion to improve the health of kids here in WA and across the globe and has previous experience working in an office administration or project support position.
The successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate the following:
Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
Experience in providing high-level coordination support to a senior leader.
Demonstrated capacity to support and liaise with diverse teams and across multiple complex projects.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders and community groups.
Experience in the preparation and assistance with grant applications and budgeting is highly desirable.
We are driving inclusion and diversity as part of the way we work and embrace the diverse career and life experiences of our staff.
If you meet a number of the requirements (and not all), we encourage you to submit your application.
We also encourage you to address any career disruptions (if applicable) you may have had in your cover letter.
