The primary function of the Works Engineer is to ensure the efficient, safe and effective delivery of capital works projects and maintenance works associated with all transport assets and quarry operations.
This role involves applying engineering best practices to optimise project outcomes, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement across all aspects of design, planning, and execution.What We can offer you:Attractive salaryTraining and development opportunitiesFlexible work options working within operational requirementsEmployee Assistance and Health & Wellbeing ProgramsWhat we trust you to deliver:Lead the delivery of capital works and maintenance projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet safety and quality standardsManage contractor performance and project contracts, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirementsProvide technical expertise to support project design, planning, and problem-solving, delivering practical and efficient solutionsOversee financial management for projects, including budget monitoring, cost control, and identifying opportunities for savingsMentor and support Graduate Engineers and Project Engineers, fostering their technical growth and project management skillsEngage effectively with stakeholders, managing communications and addressing concerns to ensure project goals are met and community expectations are satisfiedWhat you will need to be successful:Bachelor of Engineering (Civil – 4-year degree) or similar recognised by Engineers AustraliaEligibility for membership of a professional body (LGEA, IPWEA, IEA)Diploma of Project Management (or equivalent or willing to obtain)General Construction Induction Card (White card)Current Class C Drivers Licence10 years experience in road and drainage construction practicesExtensive experience in timber and concrete/steel bridge construction and maintenanceSound understanding of relevant engineering Australian StandardsHave personal integrity and take responsibilityHave the ability to prioritise and schedule work and meet deadlinesBe able to provide constructive feedback and support team developmentBe flexible and agile to work across different business areasMore information:Full position description: Click hereFull Time: 70 hours per fortnightSalary: A salary range from $105,397 + superannuationClosing date: Friday 10 January 2025 at 9amContact: If you want to know more about this opportunity, please contact Steve Bennetts, Manager Roads Engineering, on or email .
