About this Position:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Works Engineer to join our Roads department.
The primary function of the Works Engineer is to ensure the efficient, safe and effective delivery of capital works projects and maintenance works associated with all transport assets and quarry operations.
This role involves applying engineering best practices to optimise project outcomes, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement across all aspects of design, planning, and execution.

Lead the delivery of capital works and maintenance projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet safety and quality standards Manage contractor performance and project contracts, ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements Provide technical expertise to support project design, planning, and problem-solving, delivering practical and efficient solutions Oversee financial management for projects, including budget monitoring, cost control, and identifying opportunities for savings Mentor and support Graduate Engineers and Project Engineers, fostering their technical growth and project management skills Engage effectively with stakeholders, managing communications and addressing concerns to ensure project goals are met and community expectations are satisfied What you will need to be successful:
Bachelor of Engineering (Civil – 4-year degree) or similar recognised by Engineers Australia Eligibility for membership of a professional body (LGEA, IPWEA, IEA) Diploma of Project Management (or equivalent or willing to obtain) General Construction Induction Card (White card) Current Class C Drivers Licence 10 years experience in road and drainage construction practices Extensive experience in timber and concrete/steel bridge construction and maintenance Sound understanding of relevant engineering Australian Standards Have personal integrity and take responsibility Have the ability to prioritise and schedule work and meet deadlines Be able to provide constructive feedback and support team development Be flexible and agile to work across different business areas More information:

Full Time: 70 hours per fortnight
Salary: A salary range from $105,397 + superannuation
