Assistant Director, Communication and Engagement
Full-time Permanent Details: With construction of Light Rail to Commonwealth Park (Stage 2A) commencing early in 2025, Major Projects Canberra is seeking an experienced Assistant Director to deliver communications and engagement activities for this project, and other large-scale Territory infrastructure projects in the construction phase.
As Assistant Director, Communications and Engagement, you will lead the planning and delivery of construction-related communications strategies, activities, tools and channels.
You will play an integral role in managing stakeholder and construction partner relationships and support colleagues in the implementation of a Business Partnership Plan.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with extensive experience in infrastructure communications, who understands the challenges and complexities of large-scale infrastructure delivery and is confident in working with stakeholders to solve complex and sometimes emotive issues.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
A minimum of five years-experience working professionally in the fields of communications, community engagement, public participation.
Experience working on complex infrastructure projects in construction phase is desirable.
Trained and certified in IAP2 or equivalent best practice community engagement.
The ability to work flexibly with some out of hours and weekend work.
Notes:
A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
Selection may be based on application and referee reports only (exceptional circumstances only).
