Senior Environmental Scientist (Zoology)Astron is one of Australia's longest established environmental consultancies with over 30 years of continuous experience in Western Australia.
We provide a comprehensive range of environmental services to clients in the mining, energy, infrastructure, government and utilities sectors.
We employ more than 75 professional environmental staff based out of offices in Perth and Margaret River.With key service areas as Biodiversity, Geospatial, Rehabilitation and Weed Management, we pride ourselves on being a well-rounded and knowledgeable team with significant on-ground, technical experience.The RoleWe are seeking a Senior Zoologist with extensive experience to join our team.
In this full-time role, you will work both in the field and the office.If you're seeking a change or want to take the next step in your career, we will invest in your development with diverse opportunities and a great team environment.
In this role you will work as project lead, as well as help teammates with other projects, spanning an array of terrestrial vertebrate fauna surveys, including basic, detailed and targeted assessments.
You can put your existing skills to use and grow in other areas as you work alongside our highly regarded and knowledgeable team.All applicants must have a strong focus on health and safety issues, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.To be considered for this role, you must meet these essential criteria:A degree in environmental science, zoology or similar fieldExtensive prior field experience in a professional contextExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong focus on health and safetyConsulting experienceAn Australian C-class manual driver's licenceCurrent First Aid and CPR certificate (or willing to obtain)White Card (or willing to obtain)The TeamWe are high-performing and quality focused.

You'll be joining a highly regarded team with a huge amount of zoological experience in WA.The life of an Astron Zoologist is great – we do a lot of work with Traditional Owners on country.
