National Pump & Energy (NPE) is proud to be leaders in the provision of water management and treatment solutions, with specialist dewatering, bypass pumping, pump & generator hire and sales.
NPE offers pipeline and construction, engineering, remote telemetry, and disaster recovery management for mining, oil and gas, civil construction, and municipal industries.
About the Role We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Service Technician who is eager to work for an industry-leading company that values their team and gets the job done
The role is based out of our Port Hedland branch.
You will also have the opportunity to work at multiple sites as required, repairing, installing, and maintaining plant and equipment, as well as assembling and testing customer-specific rental equipment in the field.
Key Responsibilities Undertaking maintenance and repair of pumps and generators. Inspections and assessments of returned fleet for damage, ensuring the assessment includes scope of repairs and parts. Connection and testing of pumping equipment. Ensuring delivery schedules are met in a timely manner. Accurate recording of servicing information and other documentation relevant to the role. Undertake ad-hoc servicing, installs, and repairs in the field as required. Site installations of pump and generator packages. Be the on-site conduit for effective customer relations and support. Performing engine diagnosis, mechanical repairs, and servicing. Reading manuals and schematics, documenting repair notes, and interpreting parts information. Skills and Experience Experience in pump and generator maintenance and repairs. Assessing and scoping required repairs & parts. Ability to read, interpret, and record pressure gauge readings using specialized equipment such as micrometers, feeler gauges, and dial test indicators. Ability to read manuals, exploded diagrams, document repair notes, and interpret parts information. Able to work unsupervised with limited direction. Ability to interpret pump curves & understand basic pumping fundamentals. Experience in the Rental, Mining, Construction, or Heavy industries. Experience in electric pump repairs, pump & system installations, diagnostics, and duty testing. Ability to travel to sites as required. We believe in providing a great employee experience.
