Be part of something bigger at Suncorp.Suncorp Group are currently looking for an empathetic and customer focussed individual to join their GIO Workers Compensation Claims Team in Canberra as a Claims Advisor.As a Claims Advisor you will play a critical role in assisting injured workers throughout their claims process, acting as a primary point of contact, providing guidance, support, and expertise to ensure a seamless experience for both workers and employers.Each claim will present its own set of problems however, at GIO we like to approach claims from a biopsychosocial model of care; where examining a person holistically is vital in understanding how we can best support them in their recovery and return to work.This role is a permanent full-time role across Monday to Friday.What you'll doManage a portfolio of Workers Compensation Claims from initial contact to final return to workAccurately review and assess claims in line with the ACT Workers Compensation Act and internal policies and procedures.Clear and concise communication with all stakeholdersEngage with the ACT Market, employers and Brokers to enable collaborative portfolio management and quality reviewsManage your workflow to ensure that all activities are completed within applicable timeframesCollaborate with internal support and external stakeholders to ensure proactive Case Management and best customer outcomesProvide an excellent level of customer service to employers and injured workers through compliance with legislation, timely response times and efficiency in processingWhat you'll bringExperience with Workers Compensation/personal injury claims is desiredAllied Health experience would be highly regarded but not essentialStrong team player with a proven track record of providing excellent customer serviceExceptional listening and communication skills in a high-volume work environmentStrong analytical or Quality Assurance focusAbility to demonstrate compassion and empathy for the customerProven ability to build rapport with customers and key partnersAbility to interpret complex information and respond by developing appropriate actionsHigh standard of written and verbal communication skillsEffective time management skills with the ability to adhere to strict legislative timeframesHigh level of resilience and ability to manage complex, sensitive and challenging mattersWhat we can offer youWork from our Canberra office as well as from the comfort of your own home with our hybrid working arrangements, post probationary period.Exclusive offers on more than 400 of Australia's largest retailers including Myer, David Jones, Coles and Woolworths as well as discounts across our brands.A range of flexible working and leave options, including industry leading 20 weeks paid parental leave, unlimited paid emergency response leave, and military service leaveInvest in your brighter future with ongoing study support and career development programs.Give back to our communities with payroll giving, donation matching and paid volunteer leave.Why you'll love working with usWhether we're helping people manage their everyday banking, run their business or land their dream home, our ambition at Suncorp is clear – to deliver banking that's good for our customers, our people and the world.We work hard to create the right environment for you to deliver on that commitment too.
