We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Strategic Advisor to join Swinburne University.

The Senior Strategic Advisor supports the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education, Experience, Employability (DVC EEE) by managing a variety of complex tasks across the portfolio.
This includes overseeing daily operations and strategic projects aligned with Mission 2025, such as prototyping a refreshed first-year experience, reviewing and identifying new timetabling software, and enhancing approaches to policy and the student experience programs.
The advisor will provide strategic advice on government, sector, and institutional issues, and manage executive relations with key organizations.

As the Senior Strategic Advisor, you will stay updated on significant policy developments and trends in technology and innovation, particularly those affecting student experience programs.
This includes preparing complex reports, submissions, and briefings, and collaborating with senior leaders to ensure integrated operations across the university.
The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the EEE portfolio to ensure cohesive functioning across various units within the university.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

Lead and manage special projects, reviews, and related activities at the direction of the DVC EEE and provide high-level analysis and advice on outcomes.Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure seamless integration and alignment of special projects with the broader strategic objectives of the University, identifying and addressing potential risks and dependencies to enhance project outcomes.Identify emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in higher education and the broader external environment, providing foresight and strategic recommendations to inform long-term planning and positioning of the Portfolio and the University.Undertake highly complex research and reviews on matters relating to the Portfolio and the University.Provide detailed advice, analysis, business cases, presentations, and reports to the DVC EEE, the Executive Group, VCAG, Academic Senate, Education Committee, and University Council when appropriate.Participate in and contribute to developing effective processes and practices for the administration and management of complex issues, encompassing industry collaboration, report writing, researching, liaison, and reporting. Qualifications
• A postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline, and/or extensive equivalent professional experience and training in a large and complex organisation.
