The RoleAs a Business Services Accountant at ABN Group, you will be working to improve financial processes and systems, simplifying and automating ways of working and ensuring more efficient and compliant execution of accounting tasks.
You will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of our financial operations and ensuring the timely execution of key accounting tasks.
Your work will directly contribute to the effectiveness of management reporting and support the period-end close process, ensuring accurate and compliant financial data.
Key responsibilities include:
Participate in finance process improvement initiatives: simplify, reengineer, reduce manual effort, measure outcomes and support business to allow focus on value creationPrepare and process journals, manage allocations, and ensure that all entries are accurate, substantiated, and in compliance with company policiesOversee the accounting for a range of business activities, including revenue recognition from contracts, leases, prepayments, accruals, non-current assets, and employee benefit provisionsManage intercompany transactions, ensuring accurate reconciliation and settlement of accounts, while maintaining meticulous records and compliance with intercompany agreementsAssist with period-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reportsCompile internal financial reports, ensuring data accuracy and consistency with the general ledgerAssist with the weekly cash flow forecast reporting, ensuring that financial data is up-to-date and accurately reflects the business's cash positionManage and update finance master data and support other ad-hoc finance tasks as requiredThis role offers a great opportunity for an experienced Accountant to contribute to the financial health of a dynamic and growing business while developing new skills and building a strong career path within ABN Group.
You You are a highly detail-oriented and proactive Accountant with a strong foundation in financial accounting and reporting.
You're someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is adept at managing multiple priorities, and can work with a variety of stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of accounting operations.
You have the technical expertise to navigate complex accounting issues, a hands-on approach to problem-solving, and an ability to contribute to process improvements and system changes.
You will bring:
Experience with Shared Services functions and ERP implementation or transformationTertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting (CPA or CA qualified)Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts clearly to business customersYou're able to listen to stakeholders' needs, assess information, and translate it into actionable stepsAn understanding of tax accounting and compliance regulations, particularly in the construction industry or related sectorsA commitment to continuous improvement and innovation, with a willingness to embrace change and drive efficiencies within the finance functionThe ability to work in a dynamic, evolving environment, managing changing priorities while maintaining focus on accuracy and deadlinesProficiency with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 is desirable) and ExcelConstruction industry experience is highly desirableWhy ABN?
