Community Recovery is the lead agency for the provision of human and social recovery support to Queenslanders impacted by disasters including the provision of personal financial support and emotional support.
The Long-Term Resilience and Recovery team is responsible for the management of long-term recovery and resilience programs to support communities affected by disaster events.

practical informationreferral to support servicesthe distribution and coordination of financial assistance through grants processing.In this temporary position as Senior Contract and Service Development Officer, your responsibilities will include:
Contribute to the provision of sound strategic and operational advice to management on contract administration, service procurement, service monitoring and capacity development as this relates to achieving DRFA program outcomes.Deliver DRFA grants and contracts reporting in relation to service delivery outcomes and financial performance for monthly, quarterly and annual executive oversight including contributing to program evaluation.Monitor systems and strategies to ensure remedial action is taken and non-compliance issues are addressed in a scaled and appropriate manner.Actively participate in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholders within and across government and broader human services networks.Support the preparation of a range of written materials that support advice to government, including correspondence, briefing material, infographics, reports and information papers concerned with the initiatives delivered by the work area.Contribute to a professional environment through personal commitment to ethical behaviour, staff wellbeing, skills development, professional growth, and continuous improvement.As a member of the team, undertake tasks allocated by the Principal Contract and Service Development Officer and Manager in a constantly changing work environment to support innovation and efficient delivery.Professionally represent the department at forums and meetings as required.The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of contract management within government settings, including demonstrated experience in implementing Queensland Government legislation and policies, particularly related to contract management.
The ability to provide operational advice regarding the implementation of DRFA funding for contracts and grants, service monitoring and assessment, and capacity development is highly desirable.
To be successful in this position, you will need to have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and understand complex scenarios.
You will have strong attention to detail and the capability to prioritise and work on a range of projects and actions simultaneously.
You will have demonstrated experience in identifying and assessing risks and issues, with the ability to escalate effectively, and work with other team members and stakeholders to identify and deliver solutions.
Excellent communication and demonstrated capability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members, management, and other stakeholders is essential.
