Details : The Environment Protection Authority (EPA) is the primary environmental regulator for the ACT.
Our Mission is to protect and enhance the well-being of the environment and community as the ACT's primary environmental regulator.
Our Vision is a sustainable environment for future generations.The EPA is responsible for a range of environment protection issues including air and water quality, hazardous materials, waste, contaminated sites, and environmental noise.
We administer the Environment Protection Act 1997, Water Resources Act 2007, Clinical Waste Act 1990, and the Lakes Act 1976.The position will assist the EPA in delivering on key priority areas of focus, including continued industry peak body engagement to build industry capacity for environment protection, working with organizations such as the Australian Acoustical Society, Housing Industry Association (HIA), Master Builders Association (MBA), and Motor Trades Association (MTA).
The position will involve working on current commitments, including the Night Time Economy and engagement with businesses in the City Centre Entertainment Precinct, collaborating with the Canberra Institute of Technology to review and improve environmental modules in selected trades, and developing a better understanding of the regulatory burden from industry.We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experiences, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community.
