Independent Livestock Sales Agent – Central West Nsw

The Role
A well-established cooperative with a rich history spanning nearly three decades and over 80 dedicated members is currently seeking a licensed stock and station agent to join their team. Initially focused on the prime lamb market, the cooperative has expanded its operations to include regular cattle trading. It represents properties throughout New South Wales's central region and into Southern Queensland in facilitating the buying and selling of cattle and sheep on behalf of its members.
A dream role for many, this provides you with the opportunity to work autonomously and create a stellar reputation and network with the strong backing of quality producers. The Co-op has established markets; however, it would be looking for you to expand on these and provide new options for marketing its stock. Essential qualities for the position include strong communication, organisational, and record-keeping skills, as well as a genuine passion for market analysis and the ability to observe and predict emerging trends. An integral part of the role involves regular interaction with property owners, contractors, transporters, and market representatives, requiring a hands-on approach and frequent travel between markets and properties, providing you with the opportunity to explore the local area and develop your network.
The successful candidate will benefit from the support of a dedicated and modern board of directors, each of whom is an active member of their respective communities and plays a vital role in promoting the cooperative and its producers. They also assist and participate in local field days and events.
The Offer
As the successful candidate, you will be presented with an attractive remuneration package comprising a competitive base salary, complemented by a rewarding commission structure based on your sales achievements. Based in one of the nearby towns or Dubbo, to ensure close proximity to our client base and operational areas, you will be provided with a company vehicle to support your work-related travel needs.
You will enjoy exploring the local region, with several town centres offering all the required amenities within an hour or two of Dubbo. Various schooling and partner employment opportunities are available in the area, and you will be warmly welcomed by the co-op community.
