Salary: 115,899 - $130,733 + 15% BDCP + up to 15.4% SuperannuationLocation: Canberra - ACT, Melbourne CBD - VICThe RoleWithin the ICT Strategy and Architecture function, an EL 1 ICT Enterprise Architect is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve very complex research, analysis and design work within an integrated workforce.They will require an in-depth knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and compliance with relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
This position is also to provide architectural, design and support to projects implementing hard tokens or supporting infrastructure such as digital certificates.An EL 1 ICT Enterprise Architect will work across a range of IT disciplines related to security and assurance of PKI and Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
They will be required to focus on architectural and design tasks, in particular interfacing of applications and technologies with the Defence Identity suite and the associated identity and management controls.
They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development of their work area.As an EL 1 ICT Enterprise Architect you will be:Accountable for managing allocated resources, setting work area priorities, managing workflows, developing strategies and evaluating business outcomes.Accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements, sharing own expertise with others and guiding and mentoring less experienced employees.Develop enterprise-wide architecture to determine and assess changes to align with strategic direction and business needs.Lead the assessment of the integrity and integration of information from all available sources and the application of a variety of analytical and presentation techniques.Identify and assess the relevance and risk of new and emerging hardware and software technologies and products that support Defence ICT strategies.Apply project planning skills to contribute to project plans and documentation.Build and sustain relationships, liaise with internal and external stakeholders and facilitate collaboration.Motivate and mentor colleagues, align complementary skills and leverage resources in a manner that delivers results.Evaluate and interpret major changes affecting the organisation and adjust plans to embrace and implement change.Analyse architectural processes, standards and activities and engage in continuous improvement.Evaluate and appraise architectures based on evidence and assessments and ensure compliance with agreed procedure.Translate benefits, risks and issues of current project options to meet business objectives and identify alternative proposals.This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP).
This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines / classifications that are critical to Defence capability.
For further information, please contact the contact officer.About our TeamThe Directorate of Digital Identity Services (DDIS) brings together key identity management, Public Key Infrastructure, Smartcard, Physical Access Control (credentialing), network account provisioning and de-provisioning services and systems and security principles for Defence.Digital Identity Services provide a framework of technology encompassing digital certificates, identity, security, access and data management essential to ensuring Defence:Identities and resources are appropriately protected.Users are granted appropriate access to Defence resources.Our Ideal CandidateIt is desirable that the candidate have supported a PKI and possess the following key attributes and skills:Strong interpersonal skills to engage business areas within Defence seeking assistance and understanding of PKI technologies as it relates to their business requirements.Experience with the UniCert PKI software suite or similar.Experience with the Intercede MyID Card Management System.Experience with required middleware software and infrastructure (card readers, drivers and applet middleware) in a SOE.Ability to liaise with 3rd party hardware and software vendors to resolve issues.Direct experience liaising with internal Organisational Incident, Change and Problem management support teams.An understanding of the Gatekeeper PKI framework and liaising with representatives of AGIMO and Defence on PKI policy and direction.Provide specialist advice to policy and external agencies in relation to Defence's implementation of PKI, smart cards and related technologies.Assist with the planning and possible re-design of a PKI.#J-18808-Ljbffr
