All Energy Contracting (AEC) is a leading construction contractor specialising in the energy and renewable energy sector, including solar, wind, storage, and hybrid facilities.
Our core services comprise civil works, trenching, cable installation, electrical and mechanical installations, terminations, testing, commissioning (DC, LV, HV), operations support and maintenance expertise.
Our goal is to generate sustainable returns by delivering projects for our clients safely, efficiently, and reliably, while providing rewarding and meaningful careers for our people.
Headquartered in Brisbane, we are a dynamic business with projects spread across Australia and New Zealand.
Due to company growth, AEC is seeking a General Manager to be instrumental in the Company's expansion plans, leading the technical services & specialised contracting business unit AEM, providing engineering management, technology leadership, procurement, specialised contracting, commissioning, operational support and maintenance services in the new energy, power infrastructure & industrial sectors (including high voltage jointing, substation, distribution and power system expertise).
The AEM business entity is designed to support AEC's in-house construction projects in renewables providing a competitive advantage and technical expertise, as well as working directly with external clients providing end-to-end solutions, optimising every stage of an asset's lifecycle.
AEM is an emerging business unit within the AEC Group and requires leadership and business development expertise to implement the AEM growth strategy and manage operational activities to achieve objectives.
Key Accountabilities will include: Provide effective leadership and management to the AEM team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services Develop, support, and nurture relationships with AEM's clients and supply partners, including collaborating and cohesion across the broader AEC business Develop and implement strategies to refine AEM's client value proposition and achieve budgeted revenue and profit targets Drive technical service excellence in the renewables and energy sectors supporting AEC's in-house construction projects, while also developing opportunities to service other clients and adjacent sectors Oversee project performance within the AEM portfolio from project initiation to completion in accordance with execution plans, client requirements, corporate policies, standards, and procedures Oversee the development and implementation of AEM cost estimates, proposals, execution plans, techniques, and practices to deliver on our client commitments and industry best practice standard Provide regular performance reporting and drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives Develop, coach and mentor the technical, delivery and field teams, providing them with regular feedback and leadership, and fostering their professional growth and career development Pro-actively manage AEM business and project-related risks and opportunity Propose M&A and partnering opportunities to continue to develop capacity and grow capability in line with AEM's strategy.
Promote a safety-first culture, ensure safe design and construction processes are applied Key skills and experience required for you to thrive in this role, will include: Tertiary qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or Project Management or equivalent Specialist Trade and business management credentials Minimum of 10 years' senior leadership experience, working for a construction contractor or a project delivery and engineering consultancy or EPC company Strong knowledge of the renewables and energy sectors, with exposure to other markets such as heavy industry and resources considered favourable Proven ability to work effectively from a strategic and operational level, with a "hands on" leadership approach Previous experience in growing a successful services business unit, a natural relationship builder and influencer, with strong commercial acumen Location: Ashgrove QLD, with site visits as required to fulfill the duties of the role
