Hone your skills and develop new ones, take on big challenges and grow, through mentorship, collaboration, and empowerment.Thiess is the place to make things happen.About the roleWe are seeking experienced AHS Controllers to assist with coordinating the Mine controller operations using MineStar at Pembroke Resource's Olive Downs Complex.Pembroke Resource's Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located 40 kilometres south-east of Moranbah which commenced mining operations in mid-2023.
Thiess has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full service mining operations, including mine planning overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul (Autonomous), water management and rehabilitation as well as construction of the mine infrastructure.Working a 7 / 7 day / night roster and reporting to the Supervisor Mine Control, your duties will include:Effectively manage a fleet of Autonomous Haul Trucks (AHT) and deliver on key dispatching metrics ensuring maximum utilisation of machines on a 24hr plan from the control room.Creating and editing dump plans, load plans, stations, and park-ups.Collaborate with site and project teams and work with key internal and external stakeholders to meet the project's targets in safety, environment, and production.Management and maintenance of the virtual mine model to allow the efficient execution of the daily mine plan and ensure it accurately reflects the physical mining areas.Communicating effectively with Mining Supervisors / Coordinators and key personnel.Provide effective support to mine personnel where required.About youExperience in mining, technology, and/or logistics industry with Autonomous Haulage Systems such as MineStar Command and/or Komatsu FrontRunner systems.Demonstrated experience in similar Autonomous Haulage Controller and/or Builder role.A great attitude towards learning and developing new skills with a passion for innovation and technology.Excellent time management and organisational skills with high attention to detail.Collaborative, communication, and influencing skills together with computer literacy.Ability to work under pressure and multi-task as required.Drive safety, culture, and productivity in a team environment.Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) experience.Valid C Class Driving License.What Thiess Can Do for YouPermanent full-time positions.Thiess' commitment to ongoing training & development as part of delivering a modern autonomous mine.Health & well-being rewards program through AIA Vitality.Salary sacrifice options – flights and novated leasing.Individual flexibility arrangements on offer - (Live Local, FIFO, DIDO).Range of corporate discounts including health insurance (Medibank), travel & retail products.About usThiess works with clients in Australia, Asia, and the Americas in the dynamic field of open-cut and underground mining.The pioneering spirit of our founders – the legendary Thiess brothers – is our legacy and inspires our vision to harness the power of people and technology to drive sustainable change.At Thiess, you will have the opportunity to play a part in the global energy transition.
