Hone your skills and develop new ones, take on big challenges and grow, through mentorship, collaboration, and empowerment.Thiess is the place to make things happen.About the roleWe are seeking experienced AHS Controllers to assist with coordinating the Mine controller operations using MineStar at Pembroke Resource's Olive Downs Complex.Pembroke Resource's Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located 40 kilometres south-east of Moranbah which commenced mining operations in mid-2023.
Thiess has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full service mining operations, including mine planning overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul (Autonomous), water management and rehabilitation as well as construction of the mine infrastructure.Working a 7/7 day/night roster and reporting to the Supervisor Mine Control, your duties will include:Effectively manage a fleet of Autonomous Haul Trucks (AHT) and deliver on key dispatching metrics ensuring maximum utilisation of machines on a 24hr plan from the control roomCreating and editing dump plans, load plans, stations, and park-upsCollaborate with site and project teams and work with key internal and external stakeholders to meet the project's targets in safety, environment, and productionManagement and maintenance of the virtual mine model to allow the efficient execution of the daily mine plan and ensure it accurately reflects the physical mining areasCommunicating effectively with Mining Supervisors/Coordinators and key personnelProvide effective support to mine personnel where requiredAbout youExperience in mining, technology, and/or logistics industry with Autonomous Haulage Systems such as MineStar Command and/or Komatsu FrontRunner systemsDemonstrated experience in similar Autonomous Haulage Controller and/or Builder roleA great attitude towards learning and developing new skills with a passion for innovation and technologyExcellent time management and organisational skills with high attention to detailCollaborative, communication, and influencing skills together with computer literacyAbility to work under pressure and multi-task as requiredDrive safety, culture, and productivity in a team environmentHeavy Mobile Equipment (HME) experienceValid C Class Driving LicenseWhat Thiess Can Do for YouPermanent full-time positionsThiess' commitment to ongoing training & development as part of delivering a modern autonomous mineHealth & well-being rewards program through AIA VitalitySalary sacrifice options – flights and novated leasingIndividual flexibility arrangements on offer - (Live Local, FIFO, DIDO)Range of corporate discounts including health insurance (Medibank), travel & retail products.About usThiess works with clients in Australia, Asia, and the Americas in the dynamic field of open-cut and underground mining.The pioneering spirit of our founders – the legendary Thiess brothers – is our legacy and inspires our vision to harness the power of people and technology to drive sustainable change.At Thiess, you will have the opportunity to play a part in the global energy transition.
