About the role We are looking for a Payments Specialist to join our dynamic Pay and Assist Team.
As a Payments Specialist, you will be responsible for managing payment processes, maintaining compliance, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring the effective receipt, allocation, and refunding of Payments.

What you will be doing: Manage and oversee one or more core payment functions, such as payment allocations, refunds, and credit transfers.Develop and maintain performance reporting dashboards to monitor operational performance and trends.Provide subject matter expertise to resolve customer and stakeholder payment inquiries, escalations, and complaints.Implement operational controls and ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements.Identify and drive process improvement initiatives to simplify workflows, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.Conduct root cause analysis for operational issues and manage incidents from identification to resolution, including remediation activities.What we would like to see you bring: Strong analytical and reporting skills with experience in SQL and attention to detail.Ability to define, manage, and independently deliver programs of work.Skilled in stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation, and capturing business requirements.Proven experience in process management, preferably within the utilities sector.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.Experience with SAP, retail processes, and project management methodologies is highly desirable.Six Sigma qualifications or other continuous improvement certifications are a plus.At AGL, we offer a wide range of benefits including: Flexible working options including hybrid work.Discounts on energy, telcos, and solar plans.Participate in Energise - our reward & recognition program.Access 20 weeks of paid parental leave for the primary carer.Access to an additional week of recharge leave per year.Play an active role in our diversity & inclusion initiatives.Novated leasing and Electric Vehicle subscriptions.Access to study assistance, AGL's share purchase plan, and insurance deals.*Benefits may change over time and vary based on role type and location.
