Payroll Specialist

Job Description We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team in Melbourne, Australia.
This is a 12-month fixed-term role, open to full-time or 4 days part-time.
In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for NCS Australia.
Your duties will include handling payroll data, including hours worked, deductions, and tax calculations, while ensuring compliance with relevant employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
Additionally, you will maintain accurate employee records, resolve payroll discrepancies, and address employee inquiries in a professional manner.
In collaboration with the accounting department, you will also assist month end process by creating and posting payroll related journals.
You will assist with year-end processes, prepare and distribute pay slips, tax forms, and other payroll-related documents.
Furthermore, you will continuously improve payroll processes and procedures for increased efficiency, as well as submitting payroll tax and super payments.
Qualifications Strong knowledge of payroll processes, regulations, and best practices with expertise in managing payroll operations and ensuring compliance.
Proficiency in using various payroll software and tools to process and manage payroll data efficiently.
Experience with ELMO payroll is preferred, including handling related tasks within the system.
Experience in payroll tax lodgement, Super contribution payment and STP submission is preferred.
Proven track record in payroll or accounting roles, showcasing your ability to handle payroll responsibilities effectively.
Knowledge of relevant employment laws and regulations, ensuring payroll compliance and addressing any legal issues.
Excellent attention to detail with a meticulous approach to reviewing payroll data and ensuring all calculations and records are accurate.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse payroll issues, identify discrepancies, and implement effective solutions.
Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
