The Mackay Hospital Expansion Project at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Communications Officer to join their team on a temporary basis.
Your opportunity To drive consumer and community engagement activities and initiatives in health service planning and delivery, and infrastructure projects including being responsible for the coordination and administration of activities and events supporting community, consumer and staff participation and engagement.This position will operationally report to the Project Lead, Mackay Hospital Expansion Project (MHEP) and professionally to the Manager of Media and Communications, MHHS.About the Team In July 2022, the Queensland Government announced a $250 million funding commitment to carry out the Mackay Hospital Expansion Project (MHEP).
This vital infrastructure project, which is being expedited as part of the Statewide Capital Expansion Program (CEP), will deliver an additional 128 inpatient beds for the Mackay Base Hospital (MBH).

The district covers an area of approximately 90,000km2 and provides services to patients and their families in Bowen, Cannonvale, Clermont, Collinsville, Dysart, Glenden, Mackay, Middlemount, Moranbah, Proserpine and Sarina.
