Join our collaborative and mission-driven team as the In-House Counsel / Workplace Relations Manager.
About the Role
This is an opportunity to shape compliance and workplace outcomes across the education and care sector while contributing to a high-impact support service.
In this pivotal position, you will:
Provide timely and practical workplace relations advice to members, ensuring compliance with industrial instruments and legislation through the provision of legal advice, interpretation of industrial awards, and supporting members in achieving legislative compliance.
Monitor regulatory updates and ensure accurate, up-to-date advice is delivered to members.
Develop and lead streamlined processes for service improvement for the delivery of effective and efficient workplace relations projects.
Represent members in Fair Work Commission proceedings and navigate union negotiations with diplomacy.
Foster collaborative relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, and unions to enhance workplace relations outcomes.
Lead and mentor the workplace relations team to deliver exceptional support services.
About Us
The Education and Care Workplace Relations Support Service, a joint initiative by Community Child Care Association (CCC) and Community Early Learning Australia (CELA), provides essential workplace relations guidance to not-for-profit and small providers of education and care services across Australia.
About You
Tertiary qualifications in Law, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in industrial relations, including award interpretation, union negotiations, and Fair Work Commission proceedings.
Strong project management experience in workplace relations contexts.
Excellent knowledge of the Fair Work Act and IR regulations.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to simplify complex legal information.
Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation capabilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on practical, compliance-driven solutions.
A high level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical judgment.
