Applications are invited for a dual trained Specialist in Radiology and Nuclear Medicine to work Full Time at Alfred Health.
About the DepartmentRadiology: The Radiology Department provides the following services to all patients of Alfred Health and to general practitioners and specialists outside The Alfred:
Angiography (Diagnostic and Interventional)Bone DensitometryComputed Tomography (CT Scan)FluoroscopyMagnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)MammographyUrologyUltrasoundGeneral Radiography (X-ray)Contracted services for clinical trialsEducationClinical conferencesNuclear Medicine: The Nuclear Medicine and PET Department provides a comprehensive range of nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapeutic services, including positron emission tomography (PET), for inpatients and outpatients. The department includes a team of nuclear medicine specialists, nuclear medicine technologists, cardiac technologists, clerical staff, and physicists. Commonly performed procedures include:
Myocardial perfusion studiesGated cardiac blood pool scansRenal scansBone scansGastric emptying, oesophageal transit, colonic transitLung scansThyroid scansBrain scansPET scans (oncology, neurology and 68-Gallium DOTATATE and PSMA, research tracers)Radio-iodine thyroid therapyY-90 therapy for synovitisLu-177 PSMA therapy for prostate cancerQualifications and Skills RequiredOur preferred candidate must possess the following experience and attributes:
Legally qualified medical practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without conditions, undertakings, or reprimands that could impact their clinical practiceFellow of the relevant colleges (FRANZCR & FAANMS)Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and PETMeeting Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and PETOutstanding communication skills, including well-developed conflict resolution skillsAbility to liaise well with other staff at all levelsDemonstrated flexibility in problem solving and the capability to develop and sustain highly collaborative relationships with others/other teamsEnquiries: A/Prof Martin Cherk ****** or A/Prof Kenneth Yap ******
