About the Role: The Australian Childhood Foundation has an opportunity for a Senior Child and Family Counsellor to join the team.
This pivotal role involves delivering trauma-informed therapeutic services to children and women impacted by family and domestic violence.
Responsibilities include providing individual counselling, parent/child therapeutic support, and direct counselling to promote recovery and healing from the effects of trauma and violence.
The position emphasizes both individual and group-based interventions, supporting dyadic therapeutic work that strengthens parent-child relationships.
The counsellor will also support group programs for children, young people, and their mothers, fostering resilience, connection, and recovery in a safe and supportive environment.
The Senior Counsellor will work in collaboration with other agencies and key stakeholders, where appropriate, to maintain and ensure the effectiveness of the programs for families receiving a service.
About the Program: The City of Stirling is the lead organisation for the Naala Djookan Healing Centre along with various consortium members.
Funded by the Department of Communities, this integrated service supports women, children, and families at risk of or experiencing family and domestic violence (FDV), promoting safe, healthy relationships and overall wellbeing.
