We are looking for an experienced Senior Environmental Consultant to join our national environment and sustainability team.
This role will support the delivery and growth of services within our infrastructure design business, including technical environmental assessments, environmental permitting advice and approvals.
As part of this role, you will:
Lead and deliver environmental assessments, impact statements and environmental management and monitoring plans for infrastructure projects.
Provide expert advice on environmental permitting for infrastructure projects, including regulatory compliance, and approvals processes at the local, state, and federal levels.
Coordinate with internal and external design teams, and project stakeholders including end clients.
Train and mentor junior staff in the delivery of environmental studies and processes.
Support business development activities including tender responses and building client relationships.
Engage in learning and development to upskill your capabilities.
Participate in team building initiatives and contribute to a culture of trust, excellence, and care.
Contribute to industry research and initiatives.
What you will bring:
You bring tertiary qualifications relevant to environmental consulting and have a strong background in the infrastructure consulting industry.
You hold comprehensive knowledge and understanding of state-specific environmental guidelines.
You are ideally a Certified Environmental Practitioner (CEnvP) and have experience in supporting councils and major infrastructure developers with environmental studies and approvals.
You enjoy working with people and have experience in cross-discipline collaboration.
This role requires strong analytical and communications skills to engage other colleagues in the broader Tonkin business where required to develop technical solutions.
