About the Role: As the Head of Consumer Underwriting, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our underwriting strategy to achieve profitable growth.
You will lead a talented team of underwriting professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
Your strategic insights and leadership will strengthen our underwriting capabilities, enhance our market position, and deliver greater value to our brokers and customers.
Other key aspects of the role: Strategic Leadership : Develop and execute the Consumer underwriting strategy and business plan to achieve profitable growth targets.
Shape the future of Consumer Underwriting at Allianz Australia, driving strategic initiatives and delivering sustainable growth.
Operational Excellence: Maintain operating efficiency, manage workloads, and ensure underwriting accuracy while responding to changing market conditions.
Innovation and Excellence: Continuously innovate to respond to market conditions, leveraging insights to enhance our product and service offerings.
Capability Development : Provide leadership and development opportunities for underwriting teams, strengthening our interface with Broker Distribution and Customer Services.
Performance Ownership : Take ownership of business performance, delivering and reporting on the strategy and business plan for Consumer Underwriting.
Governance and Compliance : Ensure adherence to underwriting governance and compliance frameworks, including underwriting guidelines.
Important to your success: Tertiary degree in Business or a relevant discipline.
Extensive experience in Personal lines underwriting and the general insurance industry.
Proven ability to develop and implement competitive business strategies aligned with organizational vision and purpose.
Strong leadership skills with recent experience in a senior leadership role.
Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing and engaging with audiences at all levels.
Proven ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders and influence outcomes.
Demonstrated commercial acumen and the ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity.
