Do work that matters The Financial Service business unit, led by the Group CFO, partners with all areas of the Commonwealth Bank to provide financial control function and specialist advice on financial management and strategy.
This advice covers finance, audit, treasury, investor relations, security, and property.
The FS Analytics Crew supports Financial Service divisions and broader Analytical Communities through data-driven analytics and insights to optimise business process and performance, proactively identify opportunities to drive world-class technology solutions for strategic decision making.
See yourself in our Team As a Finance Manager in the Risks and Controls Squad, you will work closely with the Chapter Lead Data as the data steward for general ledger data in the Group's data warehouse.
You will partner with stakeholders across all of the financial services, ensuring that the reporting data requirements are not only met but also ingested from strategic platforms.
You will be expected to be an active contributor within the greater finance and group analytics communities to grow and promote consumption of data from strategic platforms within the organisation.
Key responsibilities Partner with the broader finance team to understand how to better support the transition off legacy dataAssess and classify new and existing data assets to determine appropriate data classification levelsReview and approve access requests, maintaining strict access control protocolsManage and enforce governance policies for financial services data roles, ensuring compliance with data governance standardsConduct and oversee User Access Reviews (UARs) to ensure proper access management and compliance with data governance policiesDrive accountability to ensure consistent, quality, and timely solutionsDemonstrate a continuous improvement mindset by challenging the status quo to evolve and improve our services offeringsWe're interested in hearing from people who value: Experience with general ledger systems and reporting skills e.g.
Flash, journal postings, preparation of month-end packs, and financial controlDetail-oriented and experienced with documenting using tools like ConfluenceGood communication and stakeholder engagement capabilitiesComfortable user of SQL for querying and manipulating large data setsHigh-level familiarity with data warehouses and data leaksDemonstrable curiosity and willingness to continuously learn about both business and technologyStrong business acumen with an analytical mindsetExperience with analytics tools such as Tableau / Alteryx / PowerBI or similarStrong understanding of financial services, accounting backgroundPlease note that we're open to working with the right candidate to fill skill gaps with system knowledge and financial reporting at CBA.
