About the role: Join our team in Whitehorse City Uniting Agewell Burwood East Home Care supports ageing clients to enjoy a safe and independent life in their own homes for as long as they can.
Our caring team provides a wide range of ageing support and services across Whitehorse City, with Part-Time employment opportunities available, ranging from Monday-Friday during day time hours.
You will be supporting clients in Box Hill, Blackburn, Forest Hill, Mitcham, Vermont, Burwood and surrounding communities.
We are currently looking to grow our team with passionate and caring individuals in the following Part-Time role: Home Care Worker (relevant qualifications required)If you're passionate about making a genuine impact in your local community and helping clients enjoy their independence and quality of life, this role might just be the perfect fit for you
Key Responsibilities: Travel between clients' homesSupporting clients with domestic tasks such as meal preparation and household choresProviding social support and transportation services as requiredProviding personal care, including showering, grooming, and mobility assistanceEnsure that client's rights, cultural, spiritual and other individual needs are incorporated in all aspects of care and daily livingWork within a multidisciplinary team, provide effective support to clients, recognise changes in clients' conditions and escalate observations and concerns in accordance with Uniting AgeWell processesPromote and participate in quality activities, and provide outstanding customer service maintaining friendly, supportive and professional relationships with clients, their relatives and friendsSupport colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertiseMust have your own car (registered in your own name), valid insurance and a current Victorian driver's licenceAbout you: You are passionate about what you do and want to make a difference in the lives of our ageing clients, enhancing their self-esteem and empowering them to make choices.
This is the place for you if you have: Qualifications: Certificate III/IV or equivalent in Individual Support (Aged or Disability) or equivalent (or currently studying a Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor of Nursing)First Aid & CPR: Current certifications or willingness to obtain.Driver's Licence: A valid Victorian licence and a roadworthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance.Commitment to Person-Centred Care: Strong understanding of community care and a dedication to delivering high standards for clients and families.Team Player: Thrives in a collaborative team environment while valuing one-on-one client connections.Experience in a home care setting or providing domestic support is desirableUnderstanding of client directed careAre committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)Essentials for working in Aged Care: A current Working With Children Check card (Employee)Current and ongoing flu vaccinationsAustralian working rightsAbility to pass a national police clearance and NDIS ClearanceMake a positive difference in your community – apply now Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are encouraged to apply for this role.
