AFAC seeks to amplify the collective capability and capacity of emergency management organisations.
Through connection, collaboration, and innovation, they support members to advance the safety and resilience of communities.
AFAC has several business units that facilitate a broad range of activities on behalf of its members.
These include professional services, aircraft contract management, cross border deployment of emergency services personnel and other nationally significant activities such as management of the national conference and National Emergency Services Memorial.
The role - Product Manager, Fire Prediction AFAC is seeking a talented Fire Predictions, Product Manager to play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing decision support tools like Spark Operational and Phoenix Rapidfire.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to safer, more resilient communities through innovative fire prediction technologies.
As our new Product Manager, some of your responsibilities of will include: To own and manage the product roadmap Understanding AFAC member requirements and translating them into functional and non-functional specifications for the development and project teams Define and prioritise product features and enhancements based on member feedback, and business objectives Creation of product plans, forecasts and ownership of the product backlog.
Develop detailed product requirements, mock-ups and specifications, to a level that is implementable by an internal development team or by third party suppliers Work closely with AFAC's technical teams and suppliers to ensure the timely and successful delivery of product releases Monitor product performance, track key metrics, and make data-driven decisions to improve product usability and effectiveness Provide exceptional member support to address product-related questions Identify potential product improvements and feature requests Maintaining and creating up-to-date documentation for purposes such as training materials and user guides.
About you You are an experienced and motivated Product Manager with a passion for developing innovative solutions that make a real-world impact.
With a strong background in IT, engineering, or software development, you excel at translating complex user requirements into actionable plans and delivering exceptional products.
You are also able to work in collaborative environments, working closely with diverse stakeholders.
If you have experience in firefighting operations, fire behaviour analysis, or predictive systems, that's a bonus—but above all, you are passionate about creating tools that help communities become safer and more resilient.
