We are looking for a Clinical Nurse Lead to support a new 28-bed residential rehabilitation centre in Bundaberg.
This facility will provide withdrawal support (detox) and residential rehabilitation services in a safe and supportive environment, aimed at promoting lasting change.
Your Opportunity In this senior role, you will provide operational guidance and clinical support to a nursing team, work closely with our external stakeholders and provide therapeutic care to clients.
The role is based in the Residential facility but will support a team working across both the Withdrawal and Residential units so you will need to be excited by developing a coordinated team.
This is a part-time, permanent role based in Bundaberg, working 0.8FTE (preferably Monday – Thursday although some flexibility can be offered) with standard working hours of 8am – 4pm daily.
The position pays $106,000 - $111,000 (pro rata) plus Superannuation and Salary Packaging up to $15,900 per year.
The service will be operational in February 2025, so we are looking for someone who will be ready to commence early in the New Year.
What we are looking for As a qualified Clinical Nurse, you will have a strong background in Mental Health, Human Services, Aged Care, Community Support or similar, with a strong interest in AOD, and a commitment to supporting people dealing with these challenges.
You'll be comfortable working in an autonomous role and able to think on your feet and make independent decisions around risk and clinical management.
Clinical Duties include : Oversight and mentoring of our nursing staff – although this team are not direct reports, part of your role will include supervision and supportClinical assessments and effective nursing interventions including GP referrals and liaising with pharmacistsProviding intake support and transition of clients into the Residential service including assessmentMedication management including documentation and governanceManaging regular Nurse Clinics including client check-ups and medication reviewYou will need to have a tertiary qualification in Nursing and hold current AHPRA registration.
Coupled with your clinical skill set, you will also have : Ability to guide a group of nursing staff into a cohesive and collaborative teamAn understanding of how Residential Care works and be comfortable in this environment, which can include challenging situationsExcellent rapport building skills – you'll be liaising with both internal and external stakeholders, so strong working relationships are importantA genuine dedication to helping people to reduce their substance use and improve their life journeyA flexible, open, and engaging approach – you'll be working with a range of clients with differing needs and complexitiesStrong communication skills, ability to self-manage and work collaboratively as part of a teamAn inclusive attitude and a background working with diverse groups including CALD, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communitiesGood computer skills and ability to manage administrative tasks, including adding documentation to our CRM (HIVE) and medical system (HELIX)You'll also resonate with our values, and evidence them in your day to day working life :
