About the RoleThe Asset Planning Engineer – Water / Wastewater plays a vital role in optimising the management of our water and wastewater assets.
This role focuses on ensuring that service level objectives are met while managing the whole-of-life costs of these essential assets.
Reporting to the Coordinator of Network Engineering, you will be responsible for technical assessments, feasibility investigations, planning, and the preparation of business cases that address asset renewals and growth.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Utilising asset management tools like Technology 1 Strategic Asset Module to forecast asset renewal needs and create a 3-year fixed renewal plan.

Preparing feasibility studies, concept designs, and business cases to manage growth, renewals, compliance, and improvement projects.

Implementing Asset Improvement Initiatives to enhance the cost-effectiveness and service delivery of water and wastewater assets.

Supporting asset management and strategy development functions, including performance dashboards and reporting.

Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including consultants and contractors, to achieve project outcomes.

Contributing to the planning and modelling of water supply and sewerage networks.

About YouYou bring experience in asset management, planning, or a related field, with a focus on infrastructure or utilities.
Your skills include:

A qualification in a related field such as Asset Management, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Strong ability to work with asset management tools and systems, including GIS and data analysis software.

Interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across various teams.

A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Experience in preparing feasibility studies, business cases, and managing projects that involve infrastructure assets.
