Our client in the northern suburbs of Melbourne is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Transport Allocator to join the team.
In this full-time role, you will be responsible for the efficient allocation and scheduling of a fleet of heavy haulage vehicles to ensure timely and reliable delivery of goods.
You will supervise and support a small operations team and report to the Operations Manager and General Manager.
The role includes client, staff, and equipment management (answering calls, solving issues, and avoiding call transfers as much as possible), data reconciliation, pricing, allocating personnel and resources, load planning (permit ordering and dispatching), and driver management.
What you'll be doing:
Coordinate and allocate transport jobs to drivers, ensuring optimal utilisation of resources and on-time deliveries Monitor real-time vehicle and driver availability, making adjustments to schedules/resources as needed Liaise with clients to understand their delivery requirements and priorities Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of our transport operations Foster a positive work environment and provide support and guidance to the operations team We are looking for a candidate with proven experience as a Transport Allocator (or similar logistics coordination role).
Only candidates with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role will be considered.
Requirements:
Experience dealing with freight for specialized equipment, ordering oversize/over mass permits and escort vehicles, and pricing oversized/over mass freight preferred Ability to work unsupervised Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong problem-solving skills Ability to multi-task Focused and accountable team player If you have the appetite for a fast-paced and challenging workplace that rewards high performance, send us your CV.
