Relocation and Accommodation Assistance: Financial assistance for relocation may be available for eligible applicants for appointments prior to 31 December 2024.Accommodation support may be available - conditions apply.About the Role: As an Aboriginal Mental Health Cultural Worker, you'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of comprehensive, recovery-focused, and evidence-based mental health services across the Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network.
You will ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers receive culturally relevant, accessible, and equitable care in community, acute, and rehabilitation settings.
In this dynamic role, you'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team, fostering strong relationships with local health services, community groups, and ATSI organizations.
Your expertise will be vital in bridging cultural understanding and ensuring that mental health care is tailored to the unique needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
About You: Experience in working with and providing advocacy and support services to ATSI people and communities.Experience working within a community engagement or development capacity.Experience in reporting to and liaising with multiple stakeholders across the spectrum of community services or health.Experience in working with people who have health and/or mental health related issues.Experience in working within a community services team environment and successful participation in such a setting.Experience in Microsoft Office software packages including word processing, desktop publishing, Excel and Outlook.Experience working with Aboriginal consumers.Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network has determined that an exemption to prefer Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants granted by the Equal Opportunity Tribunal of South Australia under sections 34(2) and 56(2) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (SA) applies to this position.
