About the role This is an internal opportunity for a compassionate and self-motivated Community Mental Health Practitioner eager to make a difference in the lives of young people.
This 3-month fixed-term, part-time role (16 hours per week) is based at the Youth Step up Step down (YSUSD) service in Woodridge.
In this role, you will provide intensive, person-centred, recovery-oriented support to young people, helping them achieve their wellbeing goals, build capacity and daily living skills, strengthen social connections, enhance community networks, and grow in confidence to live independently in the community.
Key responsibilities Deliver high-quality, flexible, person-centred services to respond to the unique needs of young people.Support young people to return to their community, live independently and enjoy a meaningful life through a staged approach to recovery.Provide resources and support to help young people build positive relationships, community networks, and access relevant services.Plan and deliver group programs that aid young people to build their skills and focus on recovery.Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated, integrated response to young people's recovery goals.What you'll bring Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Peer Work, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.Able to provide a record of Vaccination Preventable Diseases or able to obtain vaccinations against Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Chicken Pox, Whooping Cough, Hepatitis B or other diseases as required by our Partnership with QLD Health.Expertise in working with young people with mental health issues, complex needs and interacting with families and carers.Proven capability to implement evidence-informed approaches to mental health and wellbeing, recovery oriented frameworks and practices including trauma informed care and family inclusive practice.Interested?
